ISEE West Background

The ISEE Western Canada Chapter is a non-profit organization that represents the blasting industry in Western Canada.

Our Chapter encompasses a large geographic area that includes Western Canada from the USA Border to the Arctic Ocean, and from the Pacific to the Ontario/Manitoba border.

Our Chapter was formed in 1991 from the amalgamation of the Pacific Canada and Canadian Rockies Chapters.  We are run by blasters to serve blasters.

 

Mission

The mission of the ISEE Western Canada Chapter is to improve the level of professionalism of blasters in Western Canada.

 

Goals

Provide a level of basic blaster technical training through the provision of the ISEE Certificate Training Programs.

Hold advanced Level ll blaster training courses in Construction Blasting and Quarry/Open Pit blasting.

Hold Canada’s largest annual drilling and blasting seminar and trade show that showcases the latest in blasting technology.

Develop and continually update a “Best Practices Guide for Urban Blasting Operations”.

Provide a forum for blasters to address issues that impact the blasting industry in Western Canada.

Educate policy makers about our industry and identify, monitor, report and respond to public policy issues affecting the blasting industry.

Provide an opportunity for blasters to meet socially and enjoy comradeship.

Encourage young workers to consider a career in the drilling & blasting industry.

Provide scholarships to support students interested in following a career in the drilling and blasting industry.

Provide support and encouragement to the BCIT Student Chapter of the ISEE.
